Spinsaga Case Study - iGaming platform

Spinsaga is a fast-growing online casino and iGaming platform offering a curated library of slot games, live dealer experiences, and themed bonus campaigns to players across multiple markets. Built for the modern mobile-first player, Spinsaga combines high-production game content with a rewards ecosystem designed to keep entertainment value high and player churn low. As the platform expanded its game catalogue and player base, the marketing team faced a challenge common to high-frequency entertainment products: how to keep players engaged between sessions, re-activate those who had gone quiet, and deliver bonus and promotion messaging that felt relevant rather than generic — without breaching responsible gaming boundaries.

Learn how Spinsaga used NevTan Engage to turn player behaviour signals into personalised, revenue-driving automation

Spinsaga's player base was growing, but the team's marketing automation had not scaled with it. Promotional messages — bonus offers, free spin alerts, new game launches — were being sent on a broadcast schedule to all players, regardless of their game preferences, session frequency, or spending tier. High-value players were receiving the same messages as casual players. Lapsed players were receiving active-player promotions. The result was a rising unsubscribe rate, declining click-throughs on bonus campaigns, and an increasing cost-per-reactivation for dormant accounts.

"With NevTan Engage, every player now gets a message that matches where they are in their journey — whether that's a welcome bonus, a win-streak reward, or a win-back offer timed to their last session. The difference in engagement is night and day."

Challenge

iGaming is one of the highest-churn digital entertainment verticals. Players are highly sensitive to irrelevant messaging — a bonus for a game genre they don't play, or a promotional email sent at 3am local time, is not just ignored; it actively erodes trust and accelerates unsubscribes.

Spinsaga needed a marketing automation stack that could respond to real-time player behaviour: triggering a re-engagement campaign when a high-value player had not logged in for 5 days, surfacing a personalised new game recommendation when a player had exhausted their favourite title category, and deploying a reward notification via push at the exact moment a player was most likely to be online. The team also needed to ensure all messaging was compliant with responsible gaming guidelines, with the ability to suppress communications to players who had set deposit limits or self-exclusion preferences.

Strategy

Spinsaga implemented NevTan Engage to build a full player lifecycle automation framework, replacing their previous broadcast-first approach with event-driven, behaviour-triggered communication. Players were segmented into tiers based on session frequency, average session spend, preferred game categories, and days since last login.

Five core automated journeys were built: a Welcome & Onboarding sequence for new registrations, a Game Discovery flow recommending titles based on first-session behaviour, a Win-Back campaign for players inactive for 5+ days, a VIP Reward flow for high-frequency players, and a Responsible Gaming suppression layer that automatically excluded players with active spend limits from promotional messaging. Email, push notifications, and SMS were coordinated within each flow — with channel selection determined by each player's historical engagement pattern (e.g. push for mobile-first players, email for desktop-preferred users).

Solution

Within four months of going live on NevTan Engage, Spinsaga's automated revenue grew by 42% — with the Win-Back flow and the VIP Reward sequence accounting for the majority of that uplift. The Win-Back campaign, which triggered a personalised "We've saved your favourite games" push notification and follow-up email at the 5-day inactivity mark, reactivated 38% of lapsed players within 48 hours of the first message.

The repeat player purchase rate grew 35% — driven by the Game Discovery flow successfully introducing players to adjacent game categories, increasing the average number of game types played per player from 1.3 to 2.1.

Most significantly, players who experienced all three coordinated channels (email + push + SMS) in their journey showed 94% higher lifetime value than players who received single-channel communication — confirming the coordinated cross-channel strategy as the primary LTV driver. The Responsible Gaming suppression layer also gave the compliance team full visibility and control, reducing manual exclusion management from a weekly process to an automated real-time system.
